EVENTS

Rivers of Change: Domestic Violence Event

On October 3rd I painted live at the Kocen Arts Center for the Rivers of Change Domestic Violence Event and shared my personal story about DV. At the event advocates shared statistics and their experiences with helping the local community with this issue. The painting will be displayed at the courthouse in Prince Fredrick and then at the local women's shelter.

In September 2025 I ran a workshop leading a small class on how to paint flowers from life! We had a of fun!

Hope Painting for Caitlin
Camp Chesapeake Mural @ Bayside History Museum

Early in 2025 my dear friend reached out and asked for prayer. Her adult daughter, whom I used to work with, had flu complications and her organs were failing and she was in sepsis. I created this painting and made prints to raise money for her care. We raised almost $1000. Her daughter is doing well!

In 2024 I was commissioned to paint a small mural at the museum highlighting the 1st African American Scout group. At this time African Americans were not allowed to join the boy scouts so they made there own group and many of the members went on to be very successful.

RECENT SHOWS

For I Know the Plans I Have For YOu.jpg

In 2025, I had my second show at Artsworks@7th in North Beach, MD. Scripture inspired this most recent show. Regarding this collection, she states, “With each of these paintings I began by praying. Prayer is the most powerful experience one can have. I prayed for the Lord to lead me to His Words that would inspire each work. From there I wrote the scripture on the canvas, painting loose abstracts until I began to see an image emerge and speak to me. When I am painting, I am somewhere else. Somewhere absent of time, of space and I connect to my Savior in a way I cannot articulate. There is so much of my heart and soul in this work; I’m truly honored to share it.”

I began teaching a small group of homeschooled middle schoolers and they had their art show in April 2025! I was so impressed and proud of all the hard work they put in this year! Two students ended up getting offers to buy their work- so exciting!!

In 2024, I had my show "Hiding in the Lime Tree." A collection of my most beloved work from over the past 25 years. It is an evolution from my life as a young, depressed woman that was lost to a saved, healthy and happy person I am today. Sharing my gifts and my joy with others!

Hiding in the Lime Tree Show

I graduated with a BFA degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts (affiliated with Rutgers University) in 2004, majoring in painting. I spent many years refining my skills as a painter, while a student, working with many well-known, NYC-based artist/professors. Color theory, design, drawing, book-making, paper making are all things I absolutely loved and immersed myself in. Prior to this time, I paid my way to purchase art and painting lessons with artist Tom Vincent in high school and was trained in the 'old master' style oil painting. This technique involved building up paint slowly to create very lifelike and photo realistic portraits.

EDUCATION

WORK

I have spent the last 25+ years working in one way or another in the arts field.  I have worked creating murals, paintings, asa  design consultant, a graphic designer and a fine arts teacher.

Most recently I have gotten back into creating personal work and getting back to my passion of making murals. I frequent festivals and shows making quick and fun portraits of people. In 2023 I was awarded "Demonstrator Award" at the highly popular Southern Maryland "Artsfest" at Anne Marie Gardens. Art brings me so much joy, especially helping others make an amazing space or create a painting that means so much to them- it is priceless!

Currently some of my paintings can be seen at the calvART Gallery in Prince Fredrick, Maryland. Stop by and take a look!
